FAQ

Physio+ Questions, Answered Straight

AI summary

The logistics answer hub for Physio+ in Lindale and Tyler, Texas: what happens at the first appointment, what to wear and bring, whether PT hurts, appointment length, home exercises, kids and teens, both clinic addresses, hours, parking, walk ins, the $99 Pain Audit, referrals, and insurance. Condition specific questions are answered on the condition and service pages.

This page covers logistics: booking, visits, locations, and money. Questions about your condition, how long sciatica lasts, whether dry needling hurts, what to do about a bone on bone knee, live on the condition and service pages, answered by the doctors who treat them.

What happens at my first appointment?

Sixty minutes, one on one, with a doctor of physical therapy. We take your history, screen for red flags, test the movements that hurt, and measure baselines we can retest later. You get a working diagnosis, your first treatment the same day, and a written plan with an honest visit estimate. That is the $99 Pain Audit, the front door for every new patient at both clinics.

The answers below cover everything patients ask before that first hour: clothes, paperwork, pain, soreness, timing, and who can come along. If your question is not here, call or text 903.492.5215 and a human answers it the same business day.

What should I wear?

Clothes you can move in. Shorts if we are looking at a knee, hip, or ankle. A tank top or loose sleeve for shoulders and necks. Sneakers over sandals. If you come straight from work in office clothes, we have space to change and can work around almost anything. Do not skip booking over a wardrobe question.

What should I bring?

A photo ID, your insurance card if you plan to use insurance, a list of medications, and any imaging or physician notes you already have. Nothing except the ID is required. If your MRI report lives at another office, do not delay booking to chase the disc. We can request records after your evaluation.

Does physical therapy hurt?

Treatment should not feel like punishment. Some techniques work near the edge of discomfort, and we tell you before we go there, but nothing happens past your consent. You should understand what we are doing and why, and you can stop anything at any time. If fear of being pushed too hard is what has kept you from booking, say it at visit one and we pace the plan to it.

Is soreness after a session normal?

Mild soreness for 24 to 48 hours is normal, the same way a new workout leaves you sore, and it should fade rather than build. Sharp pain, swelling, or symptoms clearly worse than before the session are not expected. If those show up, call or text 903.492.5215 so we can adjust the plan.

Do I get treatment on day one, or just an evaluation?

Treatment starts at the first visit. The evaluation takes most of the hour, but you will not leave with only paperwork. You get your first hands on treatment, two or three starting exercises, and a written plan. A first appointment that ends with nothing but a follow up date is a wasted hour, yours and ours.

How long do appointments run?

The first appointment runs a full sixty minutes. Follow up visits typically run 45 minutes to an hour depending on your plan, and you work with your doctor of physical therapy the whole visit, not a tech and a heat pack. Leave a small buffer around your first visit in case the exam runs long.

Can someone come with me?

Yes. Spouses, parents, and adult children are welcome in the treatment space, and for minors a parent or guardian must be present. A second set of ears helps: most people remember about half of what a clinician tells them, and your home program matters. Bring whoever helps you follow through.

Will you judge my fitness level?

No. Deconditioned, post surgical, nervous, or twenty years from your last gym visit, you are exactly who this clinic is built for. We meet you at your tested baseline, not an imagined one. Nobody is graded here. The only comparison we care about is you against your own measurements from two weeks ago.

Will I have exercises to do at home?

Yes, and they are short on purpose. Expect two to four exercises, dosed and written down, usually under fifteen minutes a day. What you do between visits drives at least half your result, so we would rather give you a small program you will actually do than a heroic one you quit by Thursday.

When will I start feeling better?

Many patients feel a meaningful change inside the first two to three visits, and most mechanical problems respond within two to six weeks of focused work. It depends on the condition, how long it has been there, and your consistency. You get a specific timeline at your evaluation, and we retest against it so progress is measured.

Do you treat kids and teens?

Yes. We regularly see youth and high school athletes for sports injuries, overuse problems, and post surgical rehab. A parent or guardian attends the first visit and signs consent, and we coordinate with coaches and athletic trainers on return to play. If your teen needs a physician or specialist instead, we say so at the evaluation.

What if I stop making progress?

We measure instead of guessing. Every plan has retest points built in, and if the numbers stall for two consecutive checks, we change the plan or change the provider: a different approach, a physician referral, imaging if the exam earns it. What we do not do is keep booking the same visit and hoping.

Where are the Physio+ clinics?

Two locations. Lindale: 140 E Eagle Spirit Dr, Lindale, TX 75771, inside Fusion Athletic Club. Tyler: 6421 South Broadway Avenue, Suite 600, Tyler, TX 75703, inside B-Fit. Same doctors, same schedule, same front desk at 903.492.5215. Maps and directions live on the locations page.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday 7a to 6p and Saturday 9a to 2p at both clinics. Closed Sunday. Early slots before work and Saturday mornings fill first, so if your schedule is tight, book those about a week ahead. Call or text 903.492.5215 and we will find the slot that fits.

Where do I park?

Both clinics sit inside gyms with large free lots. In Lindale, park in the Fusion Athletic Club lot off Eagle Spirit Drive and come through the main entrance. In Tyler, park in the b-Fit lot at 6421 South Broadway and use the Suite 600 entrance. No garages, no meters, no validation.

Can I walk in, or do I need to book?

Book ahead. Every visit is one on one with a doctor of physical therapy, so the schedule is real. Walk ins are welcome to tour a clinic or ask questions at the front desk, but treatment needs a slot. Our target is an evaluation within 48 hours, so booking is rarely slower than walking in.

What is the $99 Pain Audit?

The front door for every new patient: sixty minutes with a doctor of physical therapy for a flat $99. History, red flag screen, movement exam, working diagnosis, first treatment, and a written plan with an honest visit estimate. If you need a physician or imaging instead of PT, the audit is where we tell you. Book it here.

Do I need a referral to start?

No. Texas direct access law lets a doctor of physical therapy evaluate and treat you for up to 30 days without a physician referral, and we coordinate the referral for you if care continues past that window. The full explanation, including the September 2025 law change, lives on the direct access page.

Will insurance cover my visits?

Most major commercial plans cover physical therapy at Physio+, and we verify your exact benefits the same day you call or text 903.492.5215. Coverage details, cash pricing, HSA and FSA rules, and superbills are all explained on the insurance and cash pay page.

Looking for a question that is not here?

That is on purpose. Clinical questions get clinical pages, written and reviewed by the doctors who treat them, so the answer you find is the full one.

Still have a question?

Ask a human. Same business day.
